Patronage is a distribution of a cooperative’s profits back to its customer-owners. It’s a tangible demonstration of the value of ownership in American AgCredit. As a farmer and rancher-owned cooperative, we know that a little extra capital can make a big difference in the operations of American AgCredit’s farmers and ranchers. Our patronage program allows us to give back a portion of what we earn directly to those who deserve it most: our customers.
Minimum Patronage Payment Threshold Update
American AgCredit has updated its minimum patronage payment threshold to $500, an increase from the previous $50 level. This change reflects the rising fixed costs of delivering credit and ensures the patronage program remains fair, sustainable, and aligned with our commitment to competitive upfront pricing.
Distribution
Cash patronage is distributed to customer-owners via ACH direct deposit to an external account of the primary borrower’s choice. The payment is delivered the spring of the following year. For example, patronage for 2025 is based on average loan balance in 2025 and paid in the spring of 2026.
